Let's go back to the very beginning. 2008, "Iron Man". You remember that

legendary post-credits scene where Nick Fury steps out of the shadows and talks about the

"Avengers Initiative"? It was a game-changer. But in the original, deleted version of that scene,

Fury says much, much more. In that version, he explicitly mentions "gamma accidents,

radioactive bug bites, and a whole lot of mutants." Yes,

you heard that right. MUTANTS. From the very damn beginning. Imagine that universe.

A world where the mutant problem was part of the story from the first film. Where,

alongside Hulk and Iron Man, the existence of the X-Men was an immediate reality.
