The Soviet government sealed the Dyatlov Pass case claiming nine experienced hikers died from

an unknown unnatural force, but what they found up there was so disturbing they

never wanted anyone to know the truth. In 1959, nine skilled hikers vanished in Russia's

Ural Mountains. When search teams finally tracked them down, the scene defied

all explanation. Footprints in the snow told a horrifying story. Some prints were

bare feet in subzero temperatures, others showed people wearing only one shoe,

all leading frantically down the mountain away from their tent. The tent itself

had been cut open from the inside, as if they were desperately trying to escape something.
