The Notebook That Rewrote Me

I tried to leave the apartment. The notebook was suddenly in my bag. I know it wasn’t

there before. I dumped it in a trash can three blocks away. When I got home,

it was back under my bed. Open to a new page. “You always come back.”

That’s when the notes changed. They stopped describing what I do… And started writing

things I hadn’t done yet. The first one didn’t scare me. It said,

“You’ll convince yourself this is stress.” I didn’t believe it.

But later that night, while staring at the ceiling, I caught myself repeating that exact

thought. The next page said, “Tomorrow, you’ll avoid telling anyone.”
