The One That Got Away

Thirty years ago, I was a teenager. I let go of the love

of my life at just sweet sixteen. Fear clouded my vision and I

broke up with my high school sweetheart. You'll never see me again,

we parted. To my surprise, he moved to Texas, he was right.

Years later, I stumbled upon his obituary. He created a beautiful life with

a loving wife and two wonderful kids. He was my lost soulmate,

the one who slipped through my fingers and will always be my love

that got away. I didn't know then that I would never see him again.
