The Paradox of Shared Meaning

But perception itself exists only in the mind. Only a being with a mind can think

or perceive. At the same time, we rely on symbols like language and mathematics,

which assume shared meaning. Yet these symbols can’t create articulated truth or belief

yet we agree on things like “roses are red” or “one plus one equals two.”

That agreement requires shared meaning — a meaning that exists beyond language and numbers themselves.
