The Pillars of Safe Surgery

Safe surgery is provided not only by the surgery itself but also by

every check performed before and after the surgery. Even the smallest detail overlooked in

the operating room environment can seriously put patient safety at risk.

However, intra-team communication made at the right time, the complete counting

of the materials used and the completion of the operation with a systematic

final check eliminate these risks to a large extent. The patient in

our story was able to complete the treatment process without serious harm; however,
