The Power of Intentional Waiting

In a culture that often rushes through the holidays in a blur of lights, deals,

and social events, Advent offers something different: intentional waiting. Advent prepares

the heart and faith community for the coming of Jesus Christ. When we observe

Advent, we do three things: remember Christ's first coming, the incarnation;

practice Christ's present coming in our hearts, our homes, our church; anticipate

Christ's second coming, the fulfillment of all things. Because of this

three-fold coming, Advent reminds us that our faith isn't just about Christmas Eve.

It's about living in the hope of a coming king. Waiting isn't passive. It's active.
