Lord Krishna now explains why the final moment matters so deeply. He says:

“Whatever state of being one remembers at the time of death, that state alone one attains —

because the mind is shaped by what it has practiced all along.” This is a quiet

but powerful truth. The last thought is not random. It is the result of a lifetime of

conditioning. What you think about repeatedly… What you cling to emotionally…

What you identify with daily… That becomes your inner gravity. At the final moment,

the mind does not choose — it reveals. This shloka is not about death alone.

It is about how we live. Every habit trains the mind. Every attachment
