A tsunami is a series of huge ocean waves. Caused by underwater earthquakes,

volcanic eruptions, or landslides. Most tsunamis are triggered by strong earthquakes.

Tectonic plates move suddenly, displacing vast amounts of water. This creates a

giant, powerful wave. When the wave reaches the shore, it floods coastal

areas. Destroying buildings, damaging roads and farmland. Tsunamis threaten thousands

of lives and devastate communities. They also cause great harm to nature.

During a tsunami, rescue services use warning systems and evacuations. They provide medical

assistance and utilize helicopters. After the disaster, housing and infrastructure are rebuilt.
