The air was thick with hope. Millions celebrated a new era, waving flags of

independence as colonial rule finally came to an end. Leaders stood on podiums,

painting visions of modern cities and a future where every citizen would finally taste true

prosperity. But grand promises began to crumble. Roads cracked, factories fell silent,

and the lifeblood of the communities slowly dried up. Schools and hospitals remained skeletal remains.

Frustration grew as the tools of progress lay abandoned in the red African dust.

Behind closed doors, the wealth of a nation was bartered for greed, leaving a trail

of betrayal that shadowed the light of liberty.
