You have a huge deadline, but you're scrolling social media instead. Why do we
do this? It's called 'present bias.' Your brain is hardwired to value immediate rewards
over long-term goals. Big tasks feel threatening, so our brain avoids them.
The key is to make starting easy. First, break the task
into ridiculously small steps. Don't 'write the essay,' just 'open the document'.
Now, use the 2-Minute Rule. Just do the very first step
for only two minutes. A body in motion stays in motion.
The goal isn't to finish, it's just to start.
