The Red Sea Miracle

The Exodus and the Red Sea Miracle Moses led about 600,000 men, along with women

and children, out of Egypt. They took gold, silver, and supplies all

given willingly by the Egyptians. But soon Pharaoh changed his mind and pursued them

with his chariots. The Israelites camped by the Red Sea, trapped between Pharaoh’s army and

the waters. Terrified, they cried out, thinking they would die.

But Moses said: “Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord!”

God told Moses to stretch his staff over the sea and a strong east wind blew all night,

dividing the waters. The Israelites crossed through on dry ground, with walls of water on both sides.
