The Silent Callback

Vertical 9:16 smartphone footage at night. Handheld, slight shake, grainy,

low light. A person is recording inside their car, parked, engine off.

Streetlights flicker outside. They speak casually: “I keep getting calls with no sound.”

The phone vibrates. Incoming call. Caller ID unreadable. They answer. Silence.

They whisper: “Hello?” A delayed version of their own voice plays back,

distorted: “Hello?” They hang up quickly. The car interior goes unnaturally

silent. No outside noise. They look toward the back seat. Camera slightly

zooms by accident. Hard cut to black.
