Most people think they know World War Two, but this story almost nobody talks
about. Nicholas Winton, a British stockbroker, canceled his vacation and traveled to
Prague in 1939. He forged documents and organized trains, smuggling 669 children to safety in
Britain. Winton went home and told no one. Not even his
wife knew for fifty years. Then, his wife found a scrapbook in
their attic with names of the children saved. On live TV, the audience stood.
They were those children, now grandparents themselves. Sometimes, ordinary people refuse
to look away. What forgotten hero inspires you?
