The Silent Sands Attack

The attack was carefully planned. Afghan fighters had buried themselves beneath the sand

hours earlier, waiting for darkness. They struck the rear first, then blocked the

front path with hidden traps. Gunfire echoed endlessly, confusing the British soldiers.
