In 1935, long before digital records or CCTV, a mathematician named Kurt Gassner
kept a journal of strange “logical failures” he believed were happening in the real world.
His notes remained obscure for decades, dismissed as the ramblings of an exhausted professor.
Except—several events he described have since been independently verified by archivists and investigators.
The first entry is harmless enough: “The clock in my office lost eight minutes between
blinks. My assistant saw it too.” But then the entries grow stranger.
On January 11th, Gassner met with a group of academics to demonstrate what he called “The Day
Paradox.” He placed two identical calendars on the table. One showed January 12th,
