The Watcher in the Darkness

In the autumn of 1993, something descended upon a small Ohio town.

Something that watched from the darkness between worlds. Night after night, children woke in

terror. They spoke of a gaunt silhouette pressed against the glass.

A figure too tall for any man, with fingers like winter branches. And eyes...

eyes that gleamed like oil on water, catching light that shouldn't exist in the dead of night.

Mothers clutched their rosaries and called it fever dreams. Fathers checked

the locks and said nothing more. But then came the morning they discovered the marks.

Elongated handprints smeared across second-story windows, still wet with condensation at sunrise.
