The Watcher of Honey Island Swamp

There’s a stretch of swamp in Louisiana called Honey Island, and locals will tell you it’s not

a place you wander into without knowing how to get out. Because something out there watches

the water. People describe it as tall and broad, covered in grayish hair,

with long arms and eyes that catch the light for just a second before disappearing again.

It moves quietly for something that big, slipping between trees like the swamp

knows it. Hunters say they’ve seen it standing knee-deep in water, completely still.
