In the 17th century, Robert Hooke looked through a microscope. What he saw changed science.
He didn’t see one big piece of life, but countless tiny cells — each surrounded
by a clear boundary. He thought to himself: Hmm… the cell is not open to everything. Its membrane chooses:
what goes inside — useful materials, and what stays outside — dangerous ones. And then he realized:
Without the membrane, the cell could not survive. Without a boundary — there is no life.
The conclusion: To live, we need to know how to protect ourselves and how to set boundaries.
The cell membrane teaches us that life needs boundaries. Knowing what to let in and what
