The Wolf of Rome

In ancient Rome, a baby was left to die. Instead, a wild animal protected

him. According to Roman records, twin boys were abandoned near a river.

A female wolf found them crying in the cold. She didn’t attack. She stayed.

The wolf fed them, guarded them, and kept them warm until a shepherd discovered them

days later. Those twins grew up to be Romulus and Remus, founders of Rome

itself. Rome believed its empire existed because a wild creature chose mercy.

History remembers the wolf.
