College anxiety is real, and I wish someone told me these three things freshman
year. First, the 4-7-8 breathing technique saved me during finals.
Inhale for four counts, hold for seven, exhale for eight. Do this before exams
or presentations. It literally resets your nervous system. Second, time blocking changed
everything. I stopped overwhelming myself by breaking tasks into twenty minute chunks with
five minute breaks. My therapist taught me this, and suddenly everything felt manageable
instead of impossible. Third, and this is crucial, asking for help isn't weakness.
When I finally reached out to campus counseling, I learned my anxiety wasn't abnormal. Most colleges offer
