Tired of Surviving

I don't know when it started feeling heavy. Like every step

costs more than it should. I follow the rules, I try to

be ready. Still falling behind, just doing what I could.

And that's allowed when everything's quiet. Thoughts I don't say but they don't leave.

I keep asking myself in the silence, "Is this really all we get

to be?" Something's wrong, I can feel it inside. Like a bruise
