Titanic Sinking Scenes: Movie Magic

The Titanic flooding scenes were filmed in a tank with only knee-high water and a massive greenscreen

behind the actors. What looked like a catastrophic ship disaster on screen was actually just

two people standing in shallow water on a controlled set. The crew surrounded

them with cameras and lighting equipment while they performed their dramatic scenes. The entire ocean

and sinking ship effect you see in the movie was added digitally in post-production. Everything that

made you feel like they were actually drowning in the Atlantic was pure movie magic created

by visual effects artists.
