Trapped in Peak Cavern

For the next 24 hours, hundreds will try to save him, but will he make

it out of the cave, when his body blocks the shaft, and his own breath is poisoning the

air. March 22nd, 1959. Peak Cavern, England.

A team of cavers discovers a new fissure, a crack in the earth no one has ever

entered. It is narrow, deep, and unknown. And 20-year-old

Neil Moss volunteers to be the first. He descends 30 feet, pushing the ladder before him.

He is excited, calling his discoveries back to his friends. Then, he meets a boulder.

A dead end. He decides to turn back. But the shaft is too narrow.
