I want to talk about something a lot of parents go through, but they don't often say it out loud.

When you first start to feel that something is different with your child, it's scary.

And honestly, it can feel even scarier when nobody else sees what you see.

Sometimes you start pulling back from family, from friends, from events,

from asking for help, not because you don't care, not because you're

a bad parent, but because you don't want to be judged or dismissed. And I see this happen

so often. I've been a special education teacher for years, and what breaks

my heart is when parents hide their concerns, not because they're in denial,
