Trusting God as Our Refuge

Have you ever needed God to rescue you quickly—because you had nowhere else to run?

The Bible says “In You, Lord, I have taken refuge; let me never be

put to shame. In Your righteousness rescue me and deliver me; turn Your ear to me and save me…

My mouth is filled with Your praise, declaring Your splendor all day long.” — Psalm 71:1–8

The psalmist runs to God not as a last option, but as his only refuge.

He asks God to come close, to listen, and to save him—not because he is strong,

but because God is righteous and faithful. And even before the answer comes,

he fills his mouth with praise. That’s the power of faith: trusting God’s character
