Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia is literally a city on hardcore mode. One day,
the air pollution hit 133 times over the safe limit. And no, it wasn't some factory
explosion. This happens regularly because people burn cheap, raw coal just to
survive negative 40 degree winters. Survival, but at what cost? Kids there get a
permanent debuff. UNICEF found they have 40 percent less lung function for life.
Permanently nerfed. But it gets worse. A 2021 study found the pollution is literally lowering
the human spawn rate. Successful pregnancies drop by over 3 times in winter.
The government tried banning bad coal. One pollutant went down, but sulfur dioxide
