Most people think attachment is about love, but it is actually about safety,
and your childhood shaped the way your nervous system loves today. Children learn regulation,
safety, and identity through one thing: attunement. When a caregiver is emotionally present,
responsive, and consistent, the child's nervous system grows in a regulated,
stable way. But without attunement, the body grows up dysregulated. When caregivers
are inconsistent, absent, unpredictable, or emotionally volatile, the child becomes
insecure, hypervigilant, anxious, afraid of abandonment, sensitive to rejection,
and easily overwhelmed. Trauma is not always violence. Emotional neglect can shape the brain
