Ever wonder how a two-stroke engine makes power with just two strokes? Let’s break it down
— fast. In a two-stroke, the piston only moves up and down once to complete
a full power cycle — that means it fires every single revolution of the crankshaft.
That’s why two-strokes are smaller, lighter, and way more powerful for their size.
First stroke — the compression stroke. As the piston moves up, it compresses the
air-fuel mixture inside the cylinder. At the same time, fresh fuel is pulled into the crankcase.
Right before the top, the spark plug ignites the mix — boom — that explosion forces
the piston down. That’s your power stroke. As it drops, the exhaust gases
