Genesis Chapter 1

In the beginning, God created heavens and earth. God said, 'Let there be

light,' and there was light. He separated waters, creating the vast expanse of sky.

Dry land appeared; waters gathered, forming land and seas. The land brought

forth abundant vegetation and fruit trees. Lights appeared in the sky: sun,

moon, and stars. He filled waters with creatures, skies with birds,

land with animals. God created humankind, male and female, in His image. He blessed them.

God saw all His work; it was very good.
