Uranium Lies and Outlandish Claims

My pathological liar friend tried to convince me he had government-approved uranium in his basement.

He swore that at twelve years old, he got a full ride to a Neil deGrasse Tyson physics camp

at Columbia. He claimed he did PhD-level work on galaxy collisions and,

as a prize, got a certificate allowing him to own radioactive material for personal

use. The story only came out because he randomly texted me asking to borrow a centrifuge.

He seriously said he needed to deplete the uranium stash he was currently hiding in his parents'

house.
