1 Samuel 24 - Vengeance Belongs to the Lord

When God delivered Saul into David's hand in a cave, David's men urged him to kill his

enemy. Instead, David only cut Saul's robe, then his conscience

convicted him even for that. He refused to harm God's anointed, trusting the Lord

to vindicate him in His timing. David's restraint moved Saul to tears and confession of

David's righteousness. God's lesson: Vengeance belongs to the Lord alone. True godliness shows

itself through mercy toward enemies, respect for God's authority, and patient trust

in His perfect justice rather than taking matters into our own hands.
