Verbs Make Sentences Move

Every sentence creates a picture. We use verbs to make that picture move.

A verb is an action word. Common verbs are: Run, eat,

sleep, read, write, play. Verbs show physical

actions that you can see. The boy kicks the football. The bird flies in

the sky. We also use verbs for actions done in the mind. She thinks about

the answer. He loves his family. Verbs can also change to show time. I play today.

I played yesterday. Without a verb, a sentence cannot be complete. Verbs tell us what
