West Virginia: Rugged and Legendary

It is literally illegal to whistle underwater on a Sunday in West Virginia. Aside from that

weird rule, the Mountain State is actually legendary. It is the only state entirely inside

the Appalachian region, meaning it is nothing but rugged peaks and deep gorges.

West Virginia actually exists because they refused to join the Confederacy and split from Virginia

during the Civil War. Today it is home to the New River Gorge Bridge,

which is massive, and some of the best white water rafting on earth. Mountaineers are

always free, just make sure you keep quiet in the pool this weekend.
