When Bravery Becomes Too Heavy

Everything is just too loud and too heavy and I can’t breathe through the "bravery" anymore.

It’s like I’ve been carrying the sky on my shoulders because everyone told me I was tall

enough to reach it, but my knees are buckling. I’m shaking.

I’m actually, physically shaking and I just want to let go. I want to let the

sky fall. Let it hit the ground. I don’t want to be a warrior or a survivor or whatever

stupid word they use to make "suffering in silence" sound like a compliment. I just want to be

done. I want to cry until there’s nothing left in me but salt, because being strong

is the loneliest thing I’ve ever had to do.
