When the Ocean Came Back

Imagine standing on a beach as the ocean suddenly disappears.. fish flapping on bare sand,

silence where waves should be. Then, on December 26, 2004,

the sea came back. A colossal earthquake ripped the ocean floor apart, sending towering

walls of water across the Indian Ocean at the speed of a jet. With no warning,

entire towns vanished in minutes. Over 230,000 lives were lost as the ocean itself became

a force of sudden, irreversible devastation.
