Who Needs ICU Care?

So doctor, is ICU only for patients on ventilator or is it-- what is the need for

ICU? Yeah. Ventilator is one of the main things that we do in ICU,

but um, ICU is not just for patients on ventilator. It's,

uh, for any patients who are critically ill, who requires any

organ support will be in ICU. In addition to that, some patients who may be ill- stable

at that point, but if you're anticipating any problems for close monitoring, they'll be in ICU.

Or, uh, somebody who has undergone a major procedure can be

in ICU. So any kind of support and close monitoring, and sometimes administration of important medication
