Astronauts can't actually eat regular apples in space because crumbs are dangerous.
In zero gravity, tiny apple bits would float everywhere, potentially clogging air filters or getting
into sensitive equipment. That's why NASA creates special freeze-dried or vacuum-sealed versions
of foods. Even something as simple as bread is banned on space stations.
Tortillas replaced bread entirely because they don't create crumbs. The International
Space Station keeps a strict no-crumb policy. So Arthur would need to munch on
specially prepared apple slices sealed in airtight packaging, not a fresh crunchy apple straight from
the fridge.
