Ever notice how winter skies often look dull, pale, or completely grey?
Why do cold months dim the sky while summer feels bright and vibrant?
Winter brings thicker, lower clouds filled with tiny ice crystals and water droplets.
Think of these clouds like a giant blanket they block sunlight before it reaches the
ground. Cold air can’t hold much moisture, so clouds pack tightly together,
scattering light in all directions. And because the sun sits lower in the sky
during winter, its light has to push through more atmosphere making everything look dimmer.
This scattering removes most colors, especially blue, leaving behind a flat,
