You’re about to sneeze… ah-choo! But what actually makes that happen? Sneezing is your
body’s way of blasting out irritants. Like dust, pollen, or germs — from
your nose. When something tickles the inside of your nose, nerves send a
signal. To your brain’s sneeze center. Your chest, throat,
and face muscles all contract at once. Launching air up to 100 miles
per hour! Sneezing resets your nose sensors. And that’s why you often sneeze
two or three times in a row. So next time you sneeze,
remember — it’s not random. It’s your body’s built-in cleaning system!
