Your GPU has thousands of tiny cores working together like an army, and that's why it
destroys graphics tasks that would choke your CPU. See, your CPU has maybe
eight to sixteen powerful cores perfect for complex sequential work, but your GPU packs
thousands of smaller cores designed for one thing: doing simple math over and over simultaneously.
That's parallel processing. When you load up a game, your GPU throws
data through what's called a graphics pipeline. It takes those three d models,
transforms them through geometry calculations, applies shading and textures,
then spits out the two d pixels you see on screen. All happening at once.
