Ever wonder why the U.S. Army doesn’t use the AK-47 as its standard rifle?
🔫🇺🇸 First it’s a Russian-designed weapon, historically tied to adversaries,
and the U.S. prefers domestically developed rifles like the M4/M16 family for strategic
logistical and political reasons. Using a foreign rifle widely associated with rivals would
be impractical and confusing. Second the AK-47 fires a 7.62×39mm round that produces
more recoil and generally less accuracy at longer ranges compared to the U.S.
Army’s 5.56×45mm NATO rifles a key factor in modern combat where precision matters.
Third adopting the AK-47 would mean a complete overhaul of training, supply chains ammunition
