Def Jam tried to censor Kendrick Lamar's verse on the new Clipse album, and it had absolutely
nothing to do with Drake. Pusha T just revealed that on their new track,
"Chains & Whips," Kendrick used the phrase "trump card." That's it. Def Jam's lawyers
got scared, telling Pusha they didn't want any problems with Donald Trump.
They demanded he ask Kendrick to censor the verse, which Pusha obviously refused to do.
Then, they told him to just remove the song from the album entirely.
After a month of standing his ground, the label basically threatened to drop the group.
