Zoos: Conservation or Confinement?

Stop thinking of zoos as animal prisons. For some species, they're the only thing preventing

them from disappearing forever. The California condor was literally saved from extinction

because of zoos. But the debate is real. Some argue it's wrong to keep animals

in small spaces just for our amusement, unable to follow their natural instincts. Others say it’s

the only way they’ll ever see a giraffe, and that zoos educate us. Then there are wildlife

sanctuaries, which focus on rescuing injured animals and releasing them. So,

are zoos conservation heroes, outdated prisons, or something in between?
