Your body runs on tiny, rechargeable batteries. This molecule, called ATP,
is the universal energy currency for every single one of your cells. Whenever you move,
think, or breathe, your cells "spend" ATP by breaking off a piece,
releasing a burst of power. This leaves behind ADP, which is like a
dead battery. Then, the energy from the food you eat is used to stick
that piece back on, recharging ADP into a full ATP molecule. So,
every meal you eat is literally a charging session for the trillions of microscopic batteries that keep
you alive.
