I use a 4-step philosophy hack to stop making bad decisions. It’s based on the idea that not all
happiness is equal—achieving a goal is a "higher" happiness than just temporary fun. So when I have to
choose, I ask: 1. What’s the action? (Like,
study or go out?) 2. Who does it affect? (Me now, future me,
my family) 3. What’s the outcome? (Short-term fun vs. long-term pride)
4. Tally it up, giving more weight to that higher-quality happiness.
When I’m tempted to go out before an exam, I think about my future self and
making my family proud. That deeper satisfaction almost always wins. It’s a simple trick
