Maslow's hierarchy divides human needs into three levels: basic needs,
psychological needs and self-fulfillment needs. At the base, we find psychological
and safety needs, which ensure survival and security. These are essential, foundational
needs. As we move upward, we encounter psychological needs, the need of belonging
and love as well as self-esteem. Finally, at the top, we reach self-fulfillment
needs, where aspirations such as self-actualization and personal growth reside.
Now here, I will make the connection to advertising triggers. First,
we have the functional trigger to address basic needs like safety and survival.
