After the Gray Breaks

I wore that darkness like a second skin. Watch the day

start over, then quit again. But something cracked and the cloud blew,

and the world got loud with something new. Every raindrop shining like a cord.

Every breath like an open door. I swear the light has a

rhythm now, and it's calling my name out loud. After the gray

breaks, I feel it rise. Golden streets and fire

in my eyes. Hope comes running like it's overdue. I'm not who I was

when the sky was through. Let it pour. Let it blaze. Let it stay.
