AITA for suggesting a federal government?

My girlfriend literally beat me unconscious because I suggested a federal government. We were at dinner

with her family when I said the country is in chaos and we need a centralized system,

not direct democracy. She absolutely lost it. She called me a tyrant,

saying a central government would just crush everyone. I tried to explain that more groups

competing for power would create checks and balances, but she just snapped. She beat me up until

I blacked out. I woke up on the street with a breakup text longer than a history book.

All I wanted was organization. AITA?
