Avenatti Convicted of Fraud and Theft

theft for diverting nearly $300,000 of a client’s book-advance proceeds, by forging a client’s

signature on a letter to redirect the funds into personal own account as well. Prosecutors alleged

he withheld client funds, within a sum of 1.75 million USD That was meant for

settlement but he used it to purchase a lavish private jet. The client would have normally paid

the attorney fees, but HE took the money and used it to buy a jet, INSTEAD of providing

legal services. They both did NOT have the clients interest at heart, on top of stealing
